Welcome to Hollywood North.  Owing to low production costs and a film-friendly climate, Vancouver has become the third-largest centre for the film industry in all of North America.  Recent hits shot in our backyard include Ben Stiller's Night at the Museum and the cult favourite Twilight: New Moon.  In fact, it's not uncommon to see international A-listers (Ben Affleck, Uma Thurman, Justin Timberlake, to name-drop a few) wandering the streets of Yaletown.

But Vancouver is more than just a Hollywood backdrop.  The city is home to a passionate community of film buffs who keep screens lit up year round with award-winning cinema and hidden gems, not to mention all the latest blockbusters.

Options for theatre goers range from stadium-style mega-plexes with the latest 3D projection technology to intimate art-house venues where you can enjoy wine with the show.  And a line-up of major festivals, including one of the largest film events on the continent, brings the latest independent, art and world cinema to Vancouver screens throughout the year.
