by William Shakespeare
Directed by Anita Rochon
One of Shakespeare’s late romances, The Winter’s Tale follows the story of the emotionally volatile Leontes who accuses his faithful wife Hermione of adultery. He casts out their baby girl and his wife ‘dies’ of a broken heart. Sixteen years later the daughter Perdita, raised by shepherds, meets and falls in love with Prince Florizel. The play ends happily when Leontes is reunited with his daughter and the statue of Hermione comes back to life. Guest artist Mike Wasko, a 1999 graduate of Studio 58, will return to play Leontes thanks to the Jane Heyman Fund for Creative Collaboration.
